BACKBEATBAND

From a group of friends determined to make music for a party in Hambleden Village Hall in 1982, the Backbeatband just grew and grew. After that first gig the band added a horn section, backing vocalists, extra keyboard players and at one point a gorilla. Don't ask!

Since its first appearance the band has played over 300 gigs and has had a total of 47 musicians associated with it over the years-plus Jon Lord (Deep Purple) who once sat in for a couple of numbers.

After a break of some 20 years the band are back, just as tight as ever and aiming to ensure that everybody has a good time and dances the night away.
